Assalamu Alaikum

Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullah,

Blessed is He who sent down the criterion to His servant, that it may be an admonition to all creatures,

This is my first post on this beautiful blog masha'Allah and I'd like to start by giving a few tips on how to boost ones memorisation. I know its not going to be the best of advices but here it goes anyway:

1) Ikhlaas (Sincerity) - Be sincere; dont have the intention of becoming a Hafidh for any other reason other than pleasing Allah (swt).

2) You must have a teacher - I think best memorisation comes out when have someone supervising you. When you memorize by yourself, it is not easy to catch your mistakes, something your teacher would obviously do. This can lead to incorrect pronounciation and memorisation.

3) Specify a daily limit for memorisation - Make sure you have a set amount of lines/pages that you will memorize each day. In my opinion, I think that 1 side of a Saudi mushaf is just right. If you can learn more then alhamdulillah.

4) Use one type of mushaf - Using one type of mushaf will enable you memorize more effectively as it will make it easier for you to picture the pages in your head. I prefer the Saudi mushaf as each page ends with an ayah.

5) Listen to the Qur'an recited by others - I found that if you listen to your favourite recitor (Sheikh Shuraim/Budair) reciting the part you are going to memorise, then you tend to remember it better.

6) Not to proceed until you have perfected - There is no point proceeding with your memorisation if you have not perfected what you leanrt previously. One routine can be to give sabaq, then give revision of previous 2/3 days sabaq and then to give longer revison, maybe half a juzz starting from Juzz 1.

Some other advices my teachers gave me:

- make sure you have wudhu.
- refrain from committing major sins.
- memorise after Maghrib/Fajr.
- when memorising, recite aloud.

I hope this has helped insha'Allah.

Wassalamu Alaikum.

jewels of wisdom

i came across a very beautiful saying mentioned in the book سيرة الاءمام احمد بن حنبل رحمه الله regarding the goodness of youth, Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal said '' I cannot compare youth with aught except something that was in my sleeve and then it fell out''.

regarding nobility

Imam ahmad was asked about nobility and he said '' It is to abandon that which you desire for the sake of that which you fear''.

Quotes taken from the book entitled ''The biography of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal (May ALLAH have mercy upon him)

This is my first post on this great blog run by our brother General Iqram. My first post is going to be focused on remeberance . One of the easiest ways to remember is simple, read the Quran regularly, in my opinion it is better to read short amounts often rather than long amounts less frequently, for example in the mornings after Fajr read over your last few Sabaqs and After Asr/Maghrib read 1/4 Juzz from the back everyday to secure the remeberance. Allah SWT says in Surah Muzzammil 'So He hath turned to you (in mercy): read ye, therefore, of the Qur’an as much as may be easy for you' Do not be scared to read from the Quran in Salah, read parts from your last few sabaqs in Nafil Salahs as this is an excellent way of rememberance and holds great rewards.

Also keeping away from sinning is also an important factor Al-Khateeb reported in al-Jaami‘ (2/387) that Yahya ibn Yahya said: “A man asked Maalik ibn Anas, ‘O Abu ‘Abd-Allah! Is there anything that will improve my memory?’ He said, ‘If anything will improve it, it is giving up sin.’”
---
Abdullah bin Amr bin Al-As reported: The Prophet (SAW) said, "The one who was devoted to the Qur'an will be told on the Day of Resurrection: `Recite and ascend (in ranks) as you used to recite when you were in the world. Your rank will be at the last Ayah you recite.'' [Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

May Allah SWT give me and us all the tawfiq to learn and act upon his Quran..Ameen

Ramadhan 1428 Offensive

Through Ramadan...An excellent month. Help after help. Rising to extended heights, in sync with the Taraweeh Army. However, we should know that this blessed month is over, which brings us to the current situation today.

After a thorough re-Establishment of the conquered Realms, we are still posed with the threat of a weak 3 Realms which were not attended to through Ramadan. The 14th Realms up to the most South point of the 16th Realms are still in need of aid from the Revisionary Army.

At final last, the front lines are becoming concentrated after a four month lapse, without any Army presence at all. The entire Army was re-distributed throughout all the conquered Realms, restoring the economy of Recitation and stabilising Memorisation. The final reports of movement from the Revisionary Forces were from the 13th Realms, encamped in the southern side in the Kingdom of Surah Yusuf. A re-initiation will be necessary with a new strategical planning.

The Ramadhan Offensive of 1428 is now over, a plan which was devised to re-stabilise all the crushed Realms after the Imtihanaat Examinations obliterated the majority of our territories as they had planned from before. This was successful through 13 Realms out of 16 total.

We have finally moved into the 17th Realms, from the Gates of Al Anbiyaa, the 22nd Kingdom at the mouth of the 17th Realms. A plan from the days passed on revived, a neglected plan which was the cause for all the defeats at Imtihanaat, this is the Fall Back Plan. This was the circular type movement which includes Advance, Immediate dispatch of Revisionary Forces to the New conquered territories, and a Revisionary Army sent to any other Realm. This ensured a comprehensive coverage of Revisionary units throughout the entire conquered Territories within a few months, while keeping the power the at the front line solid.

We had a shallow first attempt, and were forced to hold at the 2nd page of the first day. Then on the second day a terrific battle enraged, finally taking over the first quarter of the 17th Realms. At long last our former victories were possible again, as on the third day we moved another quarter to encamp at Half Point on the third day.

All this is from the mercy of Allah, he had granted us the month of Ramadhan as an auxiliary. I must also give a part of the credit to my Teacher, for his blessings and du'a have been a great help to me. May Allah reward our teachers. Ameen.
