Assalamu Alaikum
Blessed is He who sent down the criterion to His servant, that it may be an admonition to all creatures,
This is my first post on this beautiful blog masha'Allah and I'd like to start by giving a few tips on how to boost ones memorisation. I know its not going to be the best of advices but here it goes anyway:
1) Ikhlaas (Sincerity) - Be sincere; dont have the intention of becoming a Hafidh for any other reason other than pleasing Allah (swt).
2) You must have a teacher - I think best memorisation comes out when have someone supervising you. When you memorize by yourself, it is not easy to catch your mistakes, something your teacher would obviously do. This can lead to incorrect pronounciation and memorisation.
3) Specify a daily limit for memorisation - Make sure you have a set amount of lines/pages that you will memorize each day. In my opinion, I think that 1 side of a Saudi mushaf is just right. If you can learn more then alhamdulillah.
4) Use one type of mushaf - Using one type of mushaf will enable you memorize more effectively as it will make it easier for you to picture the pages in your head. I prefer the Saudi mushaf as each page ends with an ayah.
5) Listen to the Qur'an recited by others - I found that if you listen to your favourite recitor (Sheikh Shuraim/Budair) reciting the part you are going to memorise, then you tend to remember it better.
6) Not to proceed until you have perfected - There is no point proceeding with your memorisation if you have not perfected what you leanrt previously. One routine can be to give sabaq, then give revision of previous 2/3 days sabaq and then to give longer revison, maybe half a juzz starting from Juzz 1.
Some other advices my teachers gave me:
- make sure you have wudhu.
- refrain from committing major sins.
- memorise after Maghrib/Fajr.
- when memorising, recite aloud.
I hope this has helped insha'Allah.
Wassalamu Alaikum.

regarding nobility
Imam ahmad was asked about nobility and he said '' It is to abandon that which you desire for the sake of that which you fear''.

Ramadhan 1428 Offensive
After a thorough re-Establishment of the conquered Realms, we are still posed with the threat of a weak 3 Realms which were not attended to through Ramadan. The 14th Realms up to the most South point of the 16th Realms are still in need of aid from the Revisionary Army.
At final last, the front lines are becoming concentrated after a four month lapse, without any Army presence at all. The entire Army was re-distributed throughout all the conquered Realms, restoring the economy of Recitation and stabilising Memorisation. The final reports of movement from the Revisionary Forces were from the 13th Realms, encamped in the southern side in the Kingdom of Surah Yusuf. A re-initiation will be necessary with a new strategical planning.
The Ramadhan Offensive of 1428 is now over, a plan which was devised to re-stabilise all the crushed Realms after the Imtihanaat Examinations obliterated the majority of our territories as they had planned from before. This was successful through 13 Realms out of 16 total.
We have finally moved into the 17th Realms, from the Gates of Al Anbiyaa, the 22nd Kingdom at the mouth of the 17th Realms. A plan from the days passed on revived, a neglected plan which was the cause for all the defeats at Imtihanaat, this is the Fall Back Plan. This was the circular type movement which includes Advance, Immediate dispatch of Revisionary Forces to the New conquered territories, and a Revisionary Army sent to any other Realm. This ensured a comprehensive coverage of Revisionary units throughout the entire conquered Territories within a few months, while keeping the power the at the front line solid.
We had a shallow first attempt, and were forced to hold at the 2nd page of the first day. Then on the second day a terrific battle enraged, finally taking over the first quarter of the 17th Realms. At long last our former victories were possible again, as on the third day we moved another quarter to encamp at Half Point on the third day.
All this is from the mercy of Allah, he had granted us the month of Ramadhan as an auxiliary. I must also give a part of the credit to my Teacher, for his blessings and du'a have been a great help to me. May Allah reward our teachers. Ameen.

The Battle of Imtihanaat 1428
The Primary Realms, which were the first 4 Realms held strong as they were totally reformed and capable of this sort of attack upon their walls and held together the entire empire, without the victories here, our campaign would have been severely sabotaged and the morale of my forces levelled to the ground, leaving me no choice but to fall back and give up my claim over everything. By the grace of Allah we had fallen, but our foundations were not uprooted.
As from here, I must rebuild the entire empire again. Thankfully not from scratch, the foundations for every razed realm still remain, fighting will become extremely severe, now my full power may be unleashed upon Shaytan and his forces with this long 7 week full offensive, now my advisers have been replaced and the number of forces will multiply, allowing for deadly strikes at dawn, when Allah showers upon us his mercy from the sky, our efforts shall be witnessed by the angels.

Primary Kingdoms re-established
Our first week of re-establishment operations included revitalising 5 Realms to a standard quality of Recitation, re-instilling the banner of 'Fluency' under their guards. The most daunting task was to restore the great Kingdom of Al Baqarah...Still remains the task of fully neutralising the Southern sector of the 2nd Realms. Nevertheless after the Revision Forces put down more than 80% of all resistance in The Great Kingdom we proceeded onwards towards the shores of Ale Imran, Empire of Distinguished Virtues.
Here we found the least problem of revival, a few pockets of resistance in remote locations made it easy for our Revision Troopers to move through swiftly. A great victory indeed, as far as the end of the 3rd Realms. As we entered the borders of the 4th Realms, a stiff block of resistance appraoched us and flanked the forces, fighting our way through we were able to defeat the enemy and restore our banners through the whole northern sector of this realm.
An Nisa, the Empire of YuseekumUllah had very little resistance, we re-instilled the banners here very quickly and moved onto the 5th Realms re-taking fully the entire northern half including the vital towns of the Southern sector, ready to redistribute from Laa Khayra from tomorrow again, to have atleast 10 Realms strong to fight the battle at Imtihaanaat, The Examinations.

The sorrowful decision
Our Lands are filled with civil unrest and internal strife, not a single Realm is fully capable of an Examination siege. Even the forces that were a final line of defence for every realm have been concentrated to the front-line. Order and harmony has been broken, uproars and errs have become of our conquered Kingdoms.
So with this, Armies upon Armies leave their posts, disappointed with their orders as they are fully capable to continue and fight on, but I have no choice but to issue this order...Our Kingdom will be uprooted and left in disaster and everything we worked so hard for will be shattered.
From this coming Monday, I will re-organise my armies to act as Revisional Forces to every conquered Realm, moving from Realm to Realm, order will be restored!
My only regret is we could have carried on for as long as it may take with an attempt at the 2 Realm/week strategy. Avoiding the Examination Sieges and then after conquest...I redistribute my Armies to restore order...But my consultants have ordered against as this conquest may take longer than I would have expected.

Al Kahf, the Land of The Two Halves and beyond
On the second day, the 6th Army moved in to allow the 18th Army to advance onwards to the city of Al Maryam, which will require less than half the numbers to take the city than needed at Al Kahf, allowing for a more wide scale overall push forward onto further sectors and Realms.
On the Day we attacked Al Maryam, we found ourselves over confident, thinking that the support from these strongholds was enough to pull us through. Our forces were forced to hold our attack upon the Fourth page. The Valley of Al Maryam told stories which mentionned the Stories relating to Bani Isra'eel, these are the fruits of this Surah.
Our shortfall at Al Maryam's Valleys forced our men to leave our ideologies of confidence and we prepared for the next massive push, moving through Al Maryam, and to return to the Surah of my dreams, the White City of Surah Taha.
We will now need to push through these parts quickly in order to regain average pace. Al Ambiyaa and taha awaits our presence. May Allah help us to gather our power and harness it during these times, during the retreat from school.

The unfailing advance
The swift movement from Al Hud to the city of Surah Ibraheem through to the Empire of Al Isra consisted in a more swift movement and establishing a stronghold in every part, with a full conquest of the city of Surah Ibraheem. Moving from there onwards to push rapidly into Al Kahf, the Land which separates the two halves at 'yatalattaf'. Ending our one month push at the Valley of Surah Maryam.
This whole month has intensified our campaign's flow, moving through 4 Juz from late April until now, in the final days of May. The advances were more a passive movement through these newly conquered parts, leaving a strong force to keep order of memorisation of these parts until we have completed this campaign insha'Allah, when the Regulatory Force will be deployed to re instill economy and stabilization in recitation.
Surah Al Ibraheem fell with great ease, its people were delighted and instantaneously offered their allegiance to our forces, making it the most successful victory since Surah Yusuf. It is now a beacon for our troops, enabling it for use during required events.
The toughest Battlefields were upon the plains of An Nahl, its walls fortified and high making it impossible to take the main city without the use of heavy artillery units. During our offensive here, an effective artillery strike would be too late and ineffective at that particular stage in time. That was the defense strength of the northern provinces, a full scale attack on the southern forces would spell disaster for my forces, so I took a more passive approach and took a few vital cities in the southern provinces under the control of recitational power, sticking with our expected speed of advancement onto the Empire of Isra.
The Empire of Isra at the gates of the 15th Realms, we knew that we were reaching Half Point, Al Kahf, the Land of the two halves was a stronghold from before. Isra's southern points were too difficult to engage with full power, so we did the same with Isra as we did with An Nahl, leaving a democractical stronghold allowing us to surpass the empire and have majority control over it.

Victory over the Northern Half, 12th Realms
This victory however, was that of a passive one. The scheduled attacks at dawn worked like clockwork, allowing for an effective push forward while the resistance forces were caught out of place.
By now, the northern parts of the 12th Realms(1st half) are under our control . Now to proceed towards The Great City of Surah Yusuf, the forces there are making good progress towards neutralising any resistance forces.
Tomorrow to break the last line of defense in the region of Al Hud, and rejoin with the forces attacking in The Great City. With the main army reinforcing the attacks on Surah Yusuf's Resistance forces, we can clear out the chances of a full scale battle, forcing the City into a siege from the gates of the 13th Realms, the main City of Surah Yusuf is within the walls of 13th Realms.
The plan is to hold off their resisting forces outside the 13th Realms and lay a siege to the City, enough time to take the city and move into the neighbouring militarily advanced city, Ar Ra'd with 'sajdah' capabilities. However, the governing body of that city have offered to join with my empire if I can take The Great City of Surah Yusuf.
Other major expeditions that have been recently taking place in The Quran are:
-A huge army despatched to Surah Yaseen, allied with over 4 different types of recitations.
-The Kingdom of Surah An Nahl has been confronted by the much expected reinforcements that were sent to the small force sent a few months ago. The establishment of a stronghold within the kingdom may become imminent if the Army keeps up a constant attacking force.

Southern half, 12th Realms
Al Hud is falling fast, the attack had begun well after dawn, but before the setting in of zuhr (post zenith). This was a full scale battle to take the Northern parts of the 12th Realms, the 7th Army was not successful enough to defeat the enemial forces, although their froces slowly scattered to fall back to their Keep in the Second Quarter.
Returning without either defeat, nor victory, the 7th Army camps on the plains of the borders of the Southern half, still inside the first quarter. We will move early tomorrow, with an effective strike at dawn, while the resistance forces are unaware.
If the plans are successful, then we will hold the northern sector of the 12th Realms, pressing on to join the skirmishers sent forward at Surah Yusuf's gates.

Al Hud, 12th Realms
I had sent a skirmishing force, which were recently reinforced with heavy artillery and siege weapons, two weeks prior the Main Army's march on Al Hud. The battle of the Gates was that of a difficult struggle, we managed to push into the 12th Realms and head only 2 pages in, encamping there for three nights, which had slowed down my advance and allowed Shaytaan's forces to regroup and send a disruptive force, Laziness. On the third day, we managed to push back the resistance and take the first fort at the Quarter.
The Laziness army lingered in our presence and has occupied my 7th Army, which is the main unit on this particular campaign. This resulted in another day fighting Laziness, but with the coming of tomorrow we shall move to take the 12th realms upto Half Point.
The skirmishers were sent over five months to try and establish some sort of stronghold, they were successful, but they weren't enforced as much as they needed from before in order for us to take Al Hud with as much ease as we anticipated, indeed the battle here was a difficult one, but Allah's victory comes only with patience.
I have sent a skirmish force with an advanced Siege unit to the Great City of Surah Yusuf. With that I have sent the best of recitations to take the walls of this city and force it to yield or send forth its men.

The Holidays, an advantage or a major loss!
These times are among my finest, as well as my worst. The Holidays are days in which you can take full advantage of the situation, non Quran related battles have subsided in most cases which gives any hifz force the ability to mobilize all their Time Units which will pave the way for an extremely effective advance.
Time Units are by far the most hardest asset to utilise properly, however if one manages to gain reinforcements from them, indeed they will be among the successful!
On the less positive side, if you do not utilise them well, then you will lose the chance to make a full scale advance, depending on the Holiday period, it may be possible to advance over 3 Realms in the Quran.
Manage your Time, organisation is the key. Schedule times for direct attacks and time for advanced artillery strikes or skirmishes (utilisation of recitations).
During any advanced strikes you may use that time for some leisure, as long as the artillery posts can continue, and as long as your skirmish units are reinforced.
Fend off laziness and ignorance, these two enemial units will compromise your Heavy Advance Program. Remain alert for Shaytaan's treachery, attend fajr at the mosque as you will be safe from 'Distractive' posts.
Monday 2 April 2007
The effect of not attending battle!
For five days, the armies that were scheduled to move into the 12th realms (Juz) in the remaining provinces of Surah Yunus were unexpectedly called back due to mainly disruptive forces which are related with the 'ignorance' and 'laziness' elites, sent under the command of Shaytaan's high Chiefs.
This has heavily slowed down our advance and we have lost 20 pages of advance during this time, in which the 4th Army (4 pages/day) could have taken Surah yunus and moved into the 12th realms, conquering many major cities in the land of AL Hud.
This will call on heavy measures, including the 7th Army (taking 7 pages/day). The strategy of using the 7th Army will be of no use if the momentum of advance is not kept for 3 weeks in which we will regain our strengths to rejoin at the scheduled point at the 16th realms.
May Allah be with mine, and your forces in every sector and region!
ma'salam

Introduction to 'The diary of a General'
Here, will be the pages of my diary, and the diaries of many other Generals during the battle for The Quran as we lead campaigns to memorize this holy book.
We hope this to be a memorial of our struggles to reach the end, through the hardships that come with this battle. We also want this to be the source of inspiration for many others who wish to enlist themselves into this noble cause.
We are known as the 'Junood ul Quran', The Soldiers of The Quran. I bid all those in this campaign in all sectors and regions good luck and may Allah's help be with you at all times.
With you be peace.
